The Middle East is an area where vehicle is king and fuel is low-cost, frequently leaving little incentive to discover more environmentally-friendly ways of moving.
But this year, as protests across the Middle East have actually risen the cost of oil, the problem of discovering alternative sources of fuel has come into sharp focus.
In a region that has one of the highest carbon footprints worldwide, one service is benefiting from the growing pressure to find alternatives to oil. It's established the Middle East's very first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing rewarding too, currently their client-list contains McDonald's.
